Wanted..

Do you like radio? Do you like to get involved?
Do you have a decent radio voice?
Do you have writing and editing skills?
Do you mind not being paid a bean to produce short, quality radio features?

If the answer to any one of these questions (but especially the last) is "yes" then we would like to have you on-board at Radio Quality.

Radio Quality needs all kinds of people to get involved. We need people to send in ready made features, then, if they fit in the site, we can put them up straight away. But we can also accept good voice-only material that we can then edit into a quality package with suitable clips.

We also need writers and, to voice up these scripts, we need people who are interested in presentation. Resting actors - we need you. If you fancy trying your hand at editing or production then that would be valuable as well.

We are happy to produce tutorials and to support you in any of these areas - I would be happy for RQ to function as an online learning lab - as long as we maintain quality - and as a showcase. Want to know how to get in to see a press screening? Which editing software to use? Selecting a minidisc player and microphone? Looking for constructive comments on how your feature can become a script for radio? We can help. We can point you towards resources on the web (especially www.radiocollege.org) and help you ourselves whenever possible.

Above all we need you to give moral support in doing anything that interests you - as long as you are interested enough in radio to do it for nothing.

If you are enthusiastic enough, you could even be the editor of an RQ section. Perhaps you might take on RQlit if you think that book reviews could be successful or RQscience making a section of interesting features on the latest breakthroughs.

Then, if RQ ever covers it costs and moves into profit - you will get some royalties - we will never take away the copyright and ownership of anything that you produce. How can you lose? (Don't answer that!)

Whatever happens, if you are madly successful, you will get something out of it. I'll give everyone an advertising space on each page they contribute to that they can use to claw back a little monetary reward (or advertise their favourite charity if you're a real saint!).

Above all, you'll get listeners that want to listen - try these searches

Google search "radio eva cassidy"

Google search "radio film review oh brother where art thou"

Google search "audio review radiohead"

Google search "dublin travel radio"

Google search "radio speech based"

Every feature also has a listener feedback section at the bottom of the page - very good for making it all worthwhile. See the response to our Eva Cassidy feature, or our review of the film O Brother, where art thou?

I look forward to hearing from you on this email - editor

Editor - Radio Quality
